China Southern arranged a free stay for me because I had an 18-hour layover in Guangzhou. The hotel runs a free shuttle to the airport every two hours, except late at night. The hotel and room looked stunning, really posh and fancier than many five-star rooms I've stayed in. The restaurant food was the worst I've tasted in a long time. They even got the noodles and hashbrowns wrong, and I couldn't finish my plate. A lot of the hotel and restaurant staff also struggle with English. The European-style town looks quite convincing, but it gets creepy once you realize it's just a facade with nothing behind the windows, like a deserted film set. Even several landmarks highlighted on the tourist map were closed.

My flight was cancelled, so I ended up staying here for one night. It was a great stay, and I wish I could've stayed longer. The hotel is in a quiet area about 30 minutes from the airport. The rooms are big, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. I used all the facilities at the swimming pool, and went for a walk around the area at night.

I had only eight hours before my connecting flight, so China Southern put me up here for the night. It's a beautiful hotel, though a little dusty, and there weren't many people around in July. My room was very spacious, with an ensuite, writing desk, TV, double bed, closet, and Wifi. In the morning, a staff member kindly called to wake me. They also provided a full cooked breakfast to take away: authentic Beef chow fun, strawberry yogurt, a boiled egg, and a sweet bun. The service was great. I only wish I'd had time to explore and use the facilities. I'd be very happy to stay here again if I explored Guanzhou.

China southern provided the room through its long layover program, and it was well worth it. The accommodation and service were great, and my room was clean and comfortable. I'm not sure whether the location is central to any Guangzhou attractions or food, but I had a great stay.
