GINCO Hotel Guangzhou Baiyun Airport

My first hotel in China turned out to be a very comfortable stay, and the staff made me feel welcome. The receptionist was helpful, other staff were polite, and even the cleaner smiled and greeted me. I felt safe too, since you need your room card to access your floor. The room was clean and felt new and modern. I liked the big flat TV and the toilet light that came on softly at night, so I could see without turning on all the lights. Free tea was provided in the room, and there’s a tea room in the lobby. I only learned on my last day that guests can use a free laundry room with washing powder included, where you can wash, steam, and dry clothes. I didn’t try the gym, but I think they have one. I ate breakfast twice despite not booking it in advance. The buffet was large and tasty, with good-quality food, including some Western dishes, buns, soup, an egg station, fruit, and sweets. There were a couple of small hassles: my key card failed twice, though reception fixed it quickly, and the shower drained badly, leaving the floor wet. The hotel was also under construction and offering a discount. I was out most of the day, so it was fine for me, though breakfast was noisy once. If you’re very sensitive to noise, this may not be a good time to stay. One more thing, the hotel uses two names. Didi doesn’t find it under the English name, so you need the Chinese name in Amap. The free airport shuttle was another big plus. You can call or give them your pickup time, and they’ll come get you. Overall, I enjoyed my stay: clean, modern rooms, helpful staff, and useful extras. It was a very good first hotel experience in China.

The hotel’s outdoor sign says Holiday inn express, which is confusing when it has multiple names. Also, the location listed was wrong: I used Didi and ended up at an empty lot. Search for Jingge hotel in Didi to get there.

The room was clean, pleasant, and smoke-free, and the Chinese Restaurant served excellent food. The service staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is in the process of rebranding to Holiday Inn Express. Highly recommended.

After a long flight, the spacious, spotless room was comfortable for resting before heading out again. GINCO Hotel is a practical, no-frills option near Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport, especially for an early flight or a stopover. It’s about a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport, and there’s a free shuttle too. Check-in was efficient, though reception wasn’t especially warm; they did share useful tips. The rates are reasonable, so it works well as a comfortable transit stay.
