Mosquitoes got into the guest room, and I had to kill one before I could sleep peacefully. The room itself had a very unusual layout: a glass wall around the washroom, its sink outside the washroom, and lights that couldn’t be fully switched off. A very, very special experience!

The free laundry was great: detergent wasn’t needed, the machine washes and dries in one, and when I was busy they even brought my clothes back to my room. The hotel is cheap, nice, and clean, with lots of restaurants nearby, including a Michelin star restaurant right next door. There are also massage places, 711, KFC, and salons all around, and it’s right by the harbor. I’ll definitely come back.

The views from my rooms weren’t much, but I wasn’t there to look out the windows. I stayed in a couple of rooms and found them clean, tidy, and, most importantly, quiet. Every staff member was fantastic, from reception to the maids who looked after the rooms. I’d stay here again on my next visit to Guangzhou.

It’s in a good spot near the waterfront and Taikoo. For more satisfactory service, it’s better to book a senior room or above. I wouldn’t recommend the standard room style.

The location is good and the service was good, but the hotel needs maintenance. Cigarette smoke had spread throughout the hotel and into the linens.
