Grand Madison Hotel Guangzhou Zhujiang New Town Hu

The location suited us well. Zhujiang Park, a large and lovely green space, is just across the road, and shopping malls and places to eat are within a 10 to 40 minute walk at a reasonable pace. Didi made it easy to reach the bargain malls. I also liked that the hotel wasn’t right in the middle of the commercial areas, where the people and traffic can feel overwhelming. Service was the real highlight, starting with a warm welcome from CiCi at check-in and a welcome gift. Our suite was well furnished and spacious, with firm, soft, and memory foam pillows, plus an extra duvet cover in the cupboard. The room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels, bathrobes, slippers, and extra water bottles each day, even when we hadn’t asked. After midnight one night, I called the front desk for a replacement hairdryer. A housekeeper brought one promptly and checked that it worked before leaving. The housekeeper looking after our room also left a sweet note saying she’d noticed how much we enjoy tea, and had left extra tea packets and water. Breakfast was more than adequate, with enough variety to enjoy it each morning without getting bored.

The room was spacious, with comfortable beds, modern design, and well maintained furnishings. Wi-Fi with VPN was great, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to get around, with lots of food options within walking distance. We stayed two nights and the staff were excellent throughout, while the location was slightly off on Google Maps. It should be across the street from Grand Hyatt, at the northwest corner of Zhujiang W Rd. and Huaming Rd. in the Qiaoxin Int'l. Bus. Podium Building. One downside was the open-plan bathroom in the two-double-bed rooms. It might work for couples, but not for friends or family. Also, horns were blaring from the streets below around 2am both nights.

The location made the stay even better, close to both sides of the big main street for a leisure walk. Reception were polite and attentive, and did their best to meet our requests. Breakfast was a bit boring, but still great value for what we paid. Recommended for anyone!

Janni at the front desk made us feel welcome and was a huge help. The rooms were amazing, and food was always easy to get. I had a wonderful stay during the Canton fair, and I’ll be back on my next visit this coming October. 10/10.
