W Guangzhou

I was really disappointed with the service. I could have booked an $80AUD hotel, but chose this one to treat myself in Guangzhou during the canton fair. I arrived at midnight and nobody was outside to welcome me, show me in, or help with my bags. Someone who I think was from the nightclub next door saw me struggling and walked me to reception. I had to carry my own bags up to the room too. For the price, what kind of service is that? I wouldn't recommend it. During the second week I stayed at another hotel for $100, and the service was exceptional, like the rest of China.

Our stay at W Guangzhou went smoothly thanks to Holan Deng. He's professional and polite, and his care made a real difference to the experience. It's rare to meet someone with such a natural feel for hospitality who genuinely cares about guests. He's a fantastic representative of W Guangzhou and one reason we'd gladly come back. Highly recommend him.

This was another great Marriott Elite Member stay at W Hotel Guangzhou, October 22-24 for two nights. There were three of us, with three Club Fabulous Rooms booked and lounge access. I reserved them all under my Gold Elite status, and at check-in they offered me an upgrade to a stunning 100-square-meter designer suite with high-tech features. The suite had a huge living room TV, around 80 inches, a fully marbled bathroom, and very luxurious amenities. The bathrobe was cozy, the TV in the bathtub was great, and the toilets were fully automated. The minibar had everything from real Champagne and branded liquor to local beer, plus a proper coffee machine. Many thanks to Mr. Chria at the front office for taking such good care of me and my guests. Breakfast was served at The Kitchen Table rather than the lounge, with a broad, high-quality selection. I do think Club room guests should have reserved tables by the windows when they arrive. There wasn't smoked salmon on the buffet, but when I asked, it was quickly brought to my table, perfect service. Ms. Sky was wonderful and helped us get a nice table both days. She even brought our coffee, which was helpful with the queues. All the breakfast staff were fantastic. We enjoyed the drinks at WooBar both evenings, along with live entertainment from a Philippine Duo. Mr.Wyatt was always happy to serve with great Marrioot Spirit, and Mr. Colin also took excellent care of us. Mr.Wyatt even made a new cocktail called “Alien” for one of my guests. The whole team made the W Club Lounge a fantastic experience for Fabulous Room guests. The evening food and drinks were good quality with a nice selection, though I think a W Hotel lounge should offer more premium options, especially wine. The food was fine too, but could be more upscale, such as smoked salmon. Special thanks to Ms. Luna, who served me and my guests with the highest Marriott Spirit. If I travel to the Guangzhou area again, I'd certainly stay at W Hotel, and I highly recommend it to other travelers.

The rooms were spacious, modern, and nicely designed, with thoughtful amenities, and breakfast was a real highlight, plenty of choice and good quality for different tastes. The hotel offers great value for a luxury stay, considering the comfort, food, and service. It's in the heart of the city among modern high-rises, handy for business and shopping. Don't expect a scenic view unless you're on a higher floor. When we arrived at 3 PM, the standard check-in time, our rooms weren't ready and we had to wait an hour, which was inconvenient. The staff were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout. Check-out was quick and smooth, leaving us with a good final impression. Despite the check-in delay, we had a very enjoyable stay and would highly recommend W Hotel Guangzhou for its rooms, warm service, and excellent breakfast.
