Hannuo Hotel (Guangzhou Railway Station Subway Station Baima Clothing City)

The rooms were decent and well furnished, and the location was okay. Keep in mind that the nearby factory outlets close at 7 pm. After that, there’s nothing to do around here. The hotel felt chaotic, the service was lacklustre, and the old lifts were scary. The general atmosphere felt off, with a lot of older foreign men staying there. I wouldn’t recommend it for solo female travelers or anyone who prefers a better hotel standard. It’s not for picky guests, and I’d only suggest staying here if you really need to be near the shopping area.

Shopping and the nearby markets are easy to reach, and the location is excellent. That’s the only positive I can give it. The staff don’t speak English at all. Rooms were dirty and poorly cleaned, soap wasn’t replaced, and water was provided only when requested. The walls are thin enough that you hear everything from neighboring rooms, and there’s a strong cigarette smell everywhere. I can’t recommend this hotel except for its location.

At 8 in the morning, someone from the hotel staff opened my door while I was inside and pushed until the security chain broke. I was scared. The hotel felt frightening and dirty, and I wouldn’t suggest anyone stay here. It’s dangerous and unhealthy. Staff smoked in the lobby, and my room smelled of smoke. The corridors smelled of smoke every day too. I stayed six days and asked for a non-smoking room. They said the 11th floor was non-smoking but charged another 250 yuan to move me there. I paid, but the rooms on the 11th floor also smelled of smoke. I was really upset, and by then there was nothing I could do because I’d already paid. Guangzhou is a beautiful city, but the bad hotel and service ruined it for me. I’m sharing a photo of a glass full of cigarettes from the hotel staff in the lobby that morning.
