The reception team were so helpful and friendly, and I’m very thankful for how professionally they looked after us. On our first day, our foreign roaming service wouldn’t let us order food on Meituan. We had to contact Meituan the next morning during business hours, and needed a local Chinese number to place a delivery order. My husband asked the receptionist to order McDonald’s on their phone, and we paid with Alipay. They kindly did it and sent the food straight to our room with the hotel robot. They had sweets and goodie bags at reception for guests, with things like hand lotion, 7up, buns, cake rolls, and snacks. There was also a free box by the lift lobby with useful emergency items: razors, toilet seat covers, alcohol wipes, a sewing kit, earplugs, mouthwash probiotics, and hair ties. For the price, the service felt like more than five stars. The management was thoughtful, and I felt very cared for throughout the stay. They let us leave our luggage at the counter after checkout, and when we returned at 5 pm, they gave us a room to change and use the toilet before heading to the airport. The night before checkout, a receptionist gave me lots of my favorite sour plum sweets since I couldn’t find them at 7-Eleven or elsewhere. She told the manager we loved them, and the next day the manager said she’d ordered them online. She gave me another bag and one for my mother-in-law too. When we waited for a Didi, the receptionist served us hot tea. It all made the hotel feel generous and welcoming, like home. The room had a refrigerator, hairdryer, toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and cold air conditioning, and it was great. Nearby, there are wholesale jade and gold shops, a mall, a train station, clothing wholesalers, and more malls. M.Y.J 24hrs convenient stall is next to the hotel, with several hotpot chicken and mutton restaurants nearby, plus a mini supermarket opposite. In the early morning, the street has food stalls selling roast pork, roast chicken, roast goose, noodles, and porridge, as well as roadside fruit and fresh orange stalls. There are also hair extension and wig shops opposite. Walk straight down the road for about 5-15 minutes to reach the train station, and at the T-junction there’s a wholesale gold and jade jewelry mall. I uploaded photos of the hotel and nearby shops in case they help other guests plan a trip to Guangzhou. Highly recommended.
