That park behind the station made the walk pleasant, with blooming plumeria and big banyan trees. To find the hotel, leave Fenghuang Xincun Station through Exit A. It’s close by, easy to locate, and feels safe. There’s a busy restaurant next door that was still crowded at 11pm. Places open that late are unusual in Guangzhou. I didn’t go in, but the seafood looked tempting. The receptionists were kind. The room, though, was old and small, with only a shower. The sheets were clean and the bed had a comfortable firmness, so it worked for a night’s sleep. I watched Conan on the wall with a projector and drifted off.

I’m staying here now, and the price, service, and everything else have been great. It’s a modest hotel in Guangzhou, China, with small rooms of about 12 square meters. They provide drinking water and keep up continuous cleaning. The entrance can be hard to spot: the door is beside the grocery store. There’s an elevator in front of you; take it to the third floor for reception.

Getting around is convenient from here, and there are restaurants and small eateries all around. The subway station is close too.
