I booked a night here before an early flight, and they offered a shuttle drop-off at whatever time I chose. For the low price, that’s convenient. The rooms were clean, so it works if all you need is somewhere cheap to sleep. The building is worn down, though. The outdoor hallways are concrete, the elevators are old, and there’s no proper laundry room. The laundry room listed as a service is supposedly on the 7th floor, but the elevator only reaches the 6th. From there you have to climb a creepy, unlit staircase to the roof, walk outside, and find a small separate room. It has a small top washer but no dryer. At night, going up there is more hassle and fright than it’s worth.

I’m glad I didn’t end up staying there. They asked whether my passport had a China entry stamp, and I explained that European passports don’t need one because the entry is recorded in the system. They then said they couldn’t give me a room. The location seemed terrible too. I’d stay away.

The information staff member was very unkind. She couldn’t speak English, even though this is the hotel nearest to the international airport.

There’s local Guangzhou food nearby, along with shops and a bus stop, and Metro Line 3 makes it convenient to get into the city. The hotel is also very close to Guangzhou International Airport, with a shuttle between the hotel and the airport.
