La Perle International Hotel

The room didn't have enough counter space for all my clothes, bags, luggage, laptop, and bathroom things. Also, GZ drivers honk constantly, so a sleep sound machine or windows that close more firmly could help. Still, traffic noise is probably an issue at any hotel. I expected this coffee-themed place to be pretty average, especially at the discount price, but I was really impressed. The Steampunk design is very cool and as tasteful as it gets in GZ. There's a bathtub in the bedroom with a great view, plus a big, clean shower with several features. The toilet is automatic with a heated seat. It was quiet-ish, and the coffee shop downstairs gives you a freebie in the morning. Staff were helpful, spoke English, and were cool. A shopping mall is only 5 meters away, there's a McDonalds if you get tired of noodles, the GZ MTR is 20 meters away, and the Park is close. Lots to walk to compared with the Westin. I'm a professional traveler and rarely leave reviews this positive. I was there for Canton; the Westin wanted $400, while I got this place for about $150. Didi cost $8 to get there. It's legit and great value. No one's paying me, and this isn't a fake review or anything.
