Linzhi Apartment (Zhonghui Plaza Guangzhou East Railway Station)

For my one-day rush trip to Guangzhou, this worked out really well, especially since I was leaving by train. The location is hard to beat, about a minute from Guangzhou East Station and Metro Terminus. My room was huge and had cooking facilities, plus a washing machine that I couldn't get working. I may have needed to ask the staff. Security felt high-tech, with a card for the electronic gates and lift as well as a key card. The view from the higher floors should be great if you're facing the station. Mine looked out onto the rather drab side instead. A heads-up about finding check-in: online information is sparse and Google Maps has no street view, so the lobby can be tricky to locate. It's to the front and right of Guangzhou East Station. Head toward the station's “front,” where there's a sheltered parking area with shops. Don't go up to the second floor with the huge open space. Walk along the right side of the parking area and cross the street. Most people seem to jaywalk there. There's also an overpass, but it's much farther down the road and appears to be accessible only from the elevated open space.
