MEH00D LESTlE Hotel（Guangzhou Huadu Rongchuang Cultural Tourism City Baiyun International Airport ）

I had a pleasant stay in this modern, convenient hotel. It took about 30 minutes to get to Baiyun airport and 15 minutes to Guangzhou North Railway station. The service really stood out. Thanks to Star for being so helpful and arranging our ride to the airport.

We booked this hotel because it was near the airport, and we'd had a good stay at the same chain in Dali. I'd recommend the Dali one, but not this one. The shower floor had brown marks, which I thought were stains rather than part of the marble-look tile design. I sent them a picture on WeChat and asked to change rooms. At first, we were fine with simply moving, but the staff replied that the marks were the normal tile design, with a laughing emoji. I said I was pretty sure the design didn't include brown splotches and circled the areas in red, though they seemed obvious already. After a long wait, they agreed to move us. The shower tiles in the next room had similar marks, and that room smelled of smoke. We asked again. They said they'd check a few rooms and eventually found one with fewer brown marks, which we accepted. In the end, we chose to cancel during the free cancellation period and stay somewhere else. They insisted we owed a half-day charge for cleaning. We'd barely used the room: we took off our shoes, had a cup of tea, and sat on one bed and the couch.

The river view is nice, and both the room and breakfast were good.
