The zoo view is lovely, and it’s easy to get around with the metro right across the street. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, too. This was our first time in Guangzhou, and we were glad we stayed here. The area is quiet. Breakfast was the weak point. There was enough choice, and the menu changed, but the food still wasn’t very good. The noodles, for example, had no taste, and I wasn’t sure what to eat each morning.

The prices are excellent for a hotel of this standard. I’d call it a good three-star place, maybe three-plus. The downsides were mediocre breakfast, poor internet, and reception staff who didn’t speak English.

Getting around Guangzhou is easy from here, with Zoo Metro station right across the road and the metro network reaching most parts of the city. The rooms are spacious and stylish. The staff, especially at reception, were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to assist or accommodate us. That helpfulness deserves a seven-star rating. Breakfast was a struggle for a vegetarian, though. During our five days, the only options we could rely on were stir-fried broccoli and beans, with no change throughout our stay.

The staff gave us very good service during the Canton Fair, and the hotel is close to the metro with lots of amenities nearby. The breakfast was acceptable to me, though I would have liked more salad choices. I liked the hotel a lot. It’s also just three stops from xaobie station, where there are many Arabic restaurants.
