Pazhou Hotel

The breakfast was quite good, but the menu was the same every day. The hotel is old, though very close to Pazhou exhibition center, and it has a shuttle bus service. I slept very badly because the poor mattress was soft like a rock and gave me back pain. The chair in the room was very old and poorly maintained. To get there, take Metro Line 8, Exit B, then turn back and walk 200-300 m.

The one real advantage is that it's within walking distance of Modiesha metro station. Otherwise, it was a poor experience. Only one person at reception could understand and speak English. Breakfast was average, and there were no lockers in the rooms. The hotel bar charged more than the menu price, and when I complained, they told me to go somewhere else.

I had a very pleasant stay at Pazhou Hotel. The staff were helpful with everything, from arranging a taxi to explaining how to get to nearby places, despite communication being difficult in China. I enjoyed breakfast every day, and non-vegetarians should have no issue. Vegetarians may find it difficult since the menu is mostly non-veg; even MacDonalds in Guangzhou only had chicken burgers. Modiesha metro station is a five-minute walk away, and the hotel is about 2 kms from Canton Fair Complex.

I arrived at midnight, but even though I’d already paid nearly 550 Canadian dollars, they said there was no room for me until 12:00 pm. My check-in was supposed to be at 7:30 am, and at 7:30 there was still no room. I’ve been stuck in the lobby for seven hours, and I can’t cancel the booking. I’m furious about how this is being handled. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.
