The Mulian Hotel of Guangzhou Gaoxin Guoyu

We've stayed here three times since 2015 and like it a lot more than the places we stayed before. The district is lovely and quiet, with a beautiful park across the road. Rooms, design, and decor are all very nice, the beds are comfortable, and cleaning is done well every day. We turned off the A/C because it was too cold for us, and the controls are pretty hard to figure out. It was a very nice stay overall, but breakfast was much better in 2016. These days it feels below average for this hotel's level. I hope they can fix it.

The location was great, but I came back late at night to find the air conditioning in my room wasn't working at all. After I complained, they moved me to another room, where the AC barely worked. It was warm enough to sleep, though still hotter than I wanted.

The breakfast was dismal, and mosquitoes kept me awake all night. Also, be aware that the rooms have no windows.

I stayed at the Mulian for seven nights and found it to be the best value for the price anywhere in Guangzhou. The location is great, with a huge green park and two shopping malls right across the street, plus the subway is a five-minute walk away. My room was clean, comfortable, and nicely designed. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guangzhou for business or pleasure.
