The coffee shop outside the hotel, also by voco, is the best, and the location is fantastic. The rooms have plenty of space, but the bed is much too soft and feels like it has lost its support. It should have been replaced a long time ago. The shower walls are the worst part, they're so dirty they badly need a scrub. The wooden floor is sticky too, so don't walk around without the bedroom slippers they provide.

Not sure why Google Maps calls it Sunny Holiday Inn, since this is Voco Hotel. The place is clean and tidy, with big rooms, and they bring Chinese soup every day. A good place to stay.

Voco Guangzhou by IHG is a great hotel in a good spot. The whole crew deserves five stars, from housekeeping and reception to the cafe and greeters. Anson is one of the greeters.

The name should be updated to voco Guangzhou Shifu by IHG. It seems the hotel was recently refurbished and feels modern. I had a pleasant three-night stay, with good service overall and even better service from the staff. A special mention for Tracy Chen (Chen Lijun), the ground-floor concierge. She was always friendly and cheerful with guests, and she's a real asset to the hotel. My room was spacious and up to international standards, rather than having a Chinese-style smart room. There's an on-site restaurant and a coffee cafe by the front doors. The rooftop pool was lovely on a sunny day, and there's also a sauna in the changing room. Swimming caps are required, and you can get one at the desk for 25RMB. It's a good base for exploring, with plenty of well-known food options nearby. Nobody pressured me to write a review, but I wanted to because I felt the hotel deserved one.

The map labels are confusing: voco Guangzhou Shifu By IHG and Guangzhou ShifuvocoHotel are the same place, and Baidu map has the correct label. The price was great for a comfortable stay, and the room was spacious. Shangxiajiu Street Shangxiajiu Pedestrian Street is right next door, with local places and tourist spots nearby. Public transport is easy to reach if you want an economical way to get to attractions farther away.
