The hotel has large rooms, big windows, good soundproofing, and a bathroom with glass walls. It’s one of the more luxurious places in the area, and both the service and restaurant food are very good. The desserts stood out, and the prices seemed reasonable, perhaps a little higher than in Germany. Outside, though, the city noise can be awful, from the usual big-city roar to birds, dogs, and chickens or roosters. I wondered if the animals were coming from the rooftops, where buildings range from lovely gardens with exotic trees and small pools to storage areas or little farms for keeping animals and birds. I’m not talking about smog, but I hope the hotel filters the air in the rooms to some degree.
