Baike Hotel

This was the best hotel we stayed at in China. The beds and pillows were great, and our balcony room had lovely views. The staff were friendly. The only small things I’d change are adding a bedside table on both sides of the bed and having heat in the bathroom when it’s cold. Those are minor points.

I stayed in Building A. The room was huge, clean and tastefully decorated, with a wonderful view across the rice terraces and the valley. The waterfall’s constant sound made it even better. Loved it! The hotel is excellent, about five minutes from the parking lot and a short walk from the main drop-off point. From there, it’s within walking distance of the Ping’an Rice Terrace. We spent a few hours on the trails above, following a loop up the hills to the two main viewing points, then back through the village to the hotel. Jason was a great host. His English is excellent, and he helped me choose a hotel in Guilin. I’m looking forward to staying here again when I’m back in Lonsheng.

The location makes arrival easy, with only a short walk so you don’t have to haul your luggage through the village. Our room had a balcony facing the rice terraces and a waterfall, and the hotel itself is beautiful, with clean, well-presented rooms and gorgeous interiors. The owner was very friendly, spoke really good English and gave us directions to the area’s two main attractions. The food was surprisingly good for a hotel. I tried several dishes and liked every one. Their homemade plum wine was potent but fantastic, and we had delicious pancakes for breakfast while looking out at the view. I can highly recommend this gem if you’re staying in the area.

Jason did a lot to make me feel welcome, both before I arrived and during my stay. His advice and help organizing walks around the area were greatly appreciated, and his English is fantastic, which made things easier. It’s a superb hotel in a quaint setting. My balcony room was a real highlight of the holiday. I’d recommend this hotel extremely highly to anyone visiting Longji.
