The rooms are roomy, especially the twin room facing People's Square. The double and king rooms are a little smaller and look onto the back alleys and shops. Beds were very comfortable, housekeeping cleaned daily, and they replenished the bottled water each day. The hotel sits beside the main food and shopping areas, with just a short walk to the river and its restaurants and hotels. Across the road, groups gather for Taichi in People's Square every morning. Staff were helpful, though their English was limited, and Google Translate worked fine. The huge breakfast room serves basic food, and there's free self-service laundry on the same floor. There are also cubicles for working or reading with a nice view of the square.

Getting a taxi was easy, and the hotel is within walking distance of some major attractions, right beside a busy area for dining and shopping. The rooms meet international standards and the staff are friendly. The lobby is almost nonexistent.

The rooms were quiet and clean, and the hotel is right in the heart of Guilin. A very good hotel.

We spent little time at the hotel, and for a three-star place the breakfast was ample for the price and the front desk service was basic but sufficient. The staff had trouble understanding English, though we got by. The rooms weren't large, but they weren't tiny either, and they were tidy, clean, and serviced daily. The main downside was the corridors. They felt old, the carpets needed replacing, and there was a strong cigarette smell. Smoking wasn't allowed in the rooms, but people seemed to smoke in the hallways. We kept breathing in their smoke, and it came under our door too. The location is hard to beat for central Guilin's sights. We walked the Four Lakes, Two Rivers from the hotel, and the Sun & Moon Pagodas are barely a five-minute walk away. Food carts, restaurants, and all kinds of shops are about a minute away. I'd give the location a 9, and the hotel overall a 7 as a three-star stay.
