I am waiting for you in Guilin Youth Hostel (Liangjiang Sihu East-West Alley)

I’d never stay here again. When we arrived at 5:00 PM there was nobody at reception, and we couldn’t get in. We had to ask the man at the restaurant downstairs if he knew the owner and could call him. In the end, a girl staying at the hostel came by and let us in using our room code. We booked this place because it offered excursions. We arranged to meet the owner at 9:30 PM to book the next day’s trip, but he never showed up. We couldn't book the visit to the Longhi rice fields and ended up missing them. The room was large, but there was no mattress on the bed. Since it was late and we were exhausted from traveling, we stayed instead of going to another hotel. If it had been a reasonable hour, we would have left. Nobody attended to us during the stay, so we still don't know who was in charge. There were no shower towels, only two small hand towels, and no one around to ask for bath towels. The whole experience made us feel abandoned and ripped off. The person in charge could deny everything in a reply, as they did when another guest said the bed had no mattress, and I wouldn't be able to answer. But everything I’ve said is true. It would be funny if that reply ended up being our first and only communication with them. The irony. If someone asks about the worst part of my 30-day trip in China, I’ll say this place without hesitation. Look elsewhere if you’re thinking of booking. I would never return.
