The landscape and nearby excursions were fantastic, and the view really made the location special. The owner was kind and helpful. If you're coming by train, the station is about an hour and a half away, though he can arrange a paid pickup. The room had some serious problems. The bathroom was in terrible shape and needs a full renovation, and a steady nighttime noise, probably from the boiler or another system, made it hard to sleep. The food was very touristy and overpriced. It was our least favorite meal in China. We'd come back for the view and nature, though.

The rice terraces were amazing, and the views change with the season. I came in August, when everything was green, though it rained often. After visiting Guillin twice, this was my first time here, and I really enjoyed it. If you like natural scenery, I'd highly recommend it. The food was okay and seemed to be made with fresh produce from local farmers. Don't forget the cable car, and if you have time, walk back downhill. Also take a photo of the old ladies' very long hair. I enjoyed it so much.

These are great spots for photos. Sunset and sunrise must be impressive, so staying overnight seems worthwhile if you can. Mid-June or July should be a good time, but check the weather forecast. It pairs well with a Guilin or Yangshuo trip.
