The surroundings were quiet, and housekeeper Emily speaks English fluently. Everyone was decent and always ready to help so we wouldn't miss out on anything. The accommodation is amazing, but the people are what make it. That's real hospitality, when you already know you want to return to the place that hosted you.

The rooms were spacious and nice, and we really enjoyed our stay. It was easy to arrange what we needed, including drivers and attraction tickets, thanks to the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The quiet, quaint village setting made a lovely place to arrive in Guilin, and there was an excellent restaurant nearby.

The Reed Caves are within walking distance, and tour companies will pick you up right at the hotel for whatever you want to do. The owner and staff made us feel so at home that we arrived as strangers and left feeling like family. We loved sharing tea and dinner with them, and the chef's food was amazing. My husband even learned to make a Chinese dish with one of the chefs. Don't miss the beer fish or cheesy mashed potatoes. We're planning to come back just for those. We stayed at the Beyond Villa in October 2019, and it was wonderful. We'll be back soon.

The photos gave a completely wrong impression. The place is remote, the rooms are tiny, and neither the hot water nor the air conditioning worked properly. Breakfast was awful.

A welcoming hostel in a little village outside Guilin. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome. There's also a very good local restaurant nearby.
