The room was large and looked nice, with a comfortable big bed, a balcony, and an electric kettle. The staff were friendly. But the private bathroom looked bad, had hair on the floor, and wasn’t very clean. The balcony view was pretty ugly, and the large TV couldn’t be used unless you paid to stream movies. The hostel is down a muddy dirt road. Worst of all, there was no working Wi-Fi in the room. It was only available in the lobby, where the doors were always open and it was really cold in winter 🥶. The staff didn’t speak English at all.

We stayed for two nights in Nov 2025. The location was great, about 200 meters from Xingping Bus Terminal and a 5-7 minute walk from the Li River scenic area. There were plenty of nearby shops for food and scooter rentals. The staff were lovely, humble, and very helpful, though they speak little English. The dorm beds were comfortable, with lockers, sockets, and privacy curtains. Getting a 6-8 inch mattress was a blessing after the thin duvet-style mattresses elsewhere in China. Free laundry, toiletries, and hot water were available. There were no towels, which wasn’t a big deal but would have been nice, and there are no lifts to the rooms, a hassle with heavy luggage.

The staff were so friendly, and even arranged a custom motorbike trip through the mountains for us and some other guests. The room was clean and comfortable, and the common areas had a nice vibe with a mix of local and international travelers. I had a great stay and would definitely come back if I visit Xingping again.

WRONG LOCATION!! Booking.com has the wrong location too. Find Pomelo hostel, then this place is on its right. On Amap, it may be listed as ‘Yangshuo 30 Duhui Youth Hostel (Xingping Ancient Town Shop)’.

I had a nice stay here. The hostel is right in the center of Xingping old town, so it’s very convenient, and the staff were really friendly.
