Head up to the pagoda for a view over the town. The park feels very local, with people playing cards in the shade, exercising, and singing.

West Street gets crowded and lively in the evenings, with tourists and street vendors everywhere. It's a fun place to wander, shop, and take in the local atmosphere. Just watch the prices: some sellers quote one amount, then try to charge more at the last moment with various tricks, so check carefully and be polite but firm. There's plenty to do beyond the street, from paragliding, hot air ballooning, rock climbing, and scenic hikes to visiting ancient towns and ruins. Renting a moped is another popular way to enjoy the mountain views at your own pace. For American travelers, Yangshuo can be especially good value, with comfortable hotels starting at around $20 a night. I'd plan for 1.5-3 days depending on how much you want to see. The natural scenery, activities, and cultural charm make it worth a visit.

The town is pretty, the scenery is lovely, and the whole area is great.

There isn't much else to do inside the park. Just outside, though, there are plenty of places to sit down and enjoy tasty Chinese food. Locals use the park as a gathering spot for games, exercise, music, and dancing. Around it, there are also pictures and memorials honoring local Chinese figures, especially military and Communist Party heroes, with accounts of their achievements.
