Yulong Yard (Yangshuo Yulong River Scenic Area)

It’s a little secluded, but getting a didi to nearby activities or towns like Yangshuo and Xingping was easy. The property arranged train station rides both ways at a good rate, and the driver was great. Our spacious room was clean, with a comfortable bed, a good shower with plenty of hot water, and an AC/heat unit that worked well. The views and peaceful setting made this a lovely escape from busy tourist towns. We loved staying at Yangshuo Secret Garden. The staff were friendly and helpful with nearby activities, and the price was great for what we got. Food at the hotel was good, but prices felt inflated for tourists, so I’d eat in one of the nearby towns.

Jiuxian village and the Yulong river are truly beautiful, and Yangshuo Secret Garden fit the setting so well. The atmosphere was peaceful and enchanting, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. We ate well at the restaurant, especially the homemade dumplings, which are a must-try. Thanks to Molly, Rebecca & Ding Ding, who went out of their way to help whenever we needed it. The stay exceeded our expectations!

Getting back to the train station in a rush could have been stressful, but the staff were great and prepared our takeaway food very quickly. DiDi rides were easy to order and arrived within minutes. The street is quiet, yet the rice fields and river are just a short walk away. We liked the lovely traditional buildings outside and the vintage decor indoors. The restaurant was convenient and the food was good, especially the homemade dumplings. The mattress was a bit hard, and the bathroom could use renovation.

With tasty food, plenty of activities on offer, and very nice staff, this was a perfect place for a holiday. It’s set among beautiful mountains.
