The hot pool is a real highlight, with three sections ranging from 38-41 degrees Celsius. I also loved the fish pool for exfoliating your feet, which was a fun surprise. The sea is warm, and we had sunny mornings and evenings with rain during the day. We were there at the end of May. The hotel is four-star and not new, but all rooms have sea-view balconies. There’s a kettle, refrigerator, and cups, and they bring bottled drinking water. The tap water tastes clean, and the tea is delicious. Breakfast is a free buffet, while dinner is expensive. The staff are friendly, though nobody speaks Russian or English, and they don’t seem to try, since most guests are Chinese. You can take a free bus into town three times a day, and the ride takes 35 minutes. There aren’t any shops nearby; the closest grocery store is a 20-minute walk, and it isn’t cheap. In general, everything here costs a lot. The guides exchange money and translate, but our guides didn’t know much Chinese themselves and seemed lazy. They were keen to exchange money and sign us up for excursions. The trips were a big B- with a minus. The so-called “safari” was just a regular zoo, and the “DELIGHTFUL VOLCANO” was a 100-meter-high hill with a hollow in the middle, overgrown with vegetation. The view from the volcano was just an ordinary landscape. There’s a construction site nearby where I think they’re building a hotel complex, and it may be there for a long time. It’s noisy day and night, a major drawback, though closing the balcony door makes it almost inaudible. The beach is close to the sea, but it’s unequipped, the water is murky, and there are no loungers or umbrellas. There’s a pool too, but only about eight loungers, which isn’t enough for such a large hotel. They clean the rooms daily and change the towels, but not the bed linen. If it weren’t for the cheap tour, I wouldn’t have liked the place. Given what I paid, though, I’m very happy with the price.
