We spent two weeks here and upgraded to a two-room suite for the extra wardrobe space. That worked out well: it was roomy, with a nicely designed bathroom, a bathtub and separate shower, plus a coffee station with a kettle, coffee and tea. Both toilets had Japanese-style smart features, including heated seats and washing functions, something I hadn't come across in a hotel before. The bed was very comfortable, and the free laundry room has all the equipment needed for a longer stay. The hotel sits on a main street, so getting around Haikou by taxi was easy, and The MixC mall is nearby. Standard rooms are available too. One drawback was the weak air conditioning, which wasn't great in Haikou's hot, humid weather. Breakfast leaned heavily toward Chinese dishes, with few European choices. Staff spoke little English but were always willing to help. I'd recommend the place, especially for a longer visit, and the two-room suite suited our needs well.

The laundry room was the one thing I liked, and it was why I chose this hotel over better options. I won't stay here again. I had booked and paid in full through Expedia, but at check-in the front desk said there was no reservation. They later said the hotel had cancelled it because Expedia hadn't paid them, and wanted cash from me. To get the same room, I ended up paying on the spot at an excessive rate, double what I'd already paid. I couldn't tell who was at fault, but I was the one left dealing with it. I was in an Executive Suite with separate air conditioning for the living room and bedroom. The bedroom unit, the more important one, didn't work at all. The front desk said someone would check it and bring a fan. A man brought the fan but didn't even try the AC, and they wouldn't change my room. I got through several nights that way. It was a nightmare. The room also stank. One toilet smelled of pee, the other had clearly been smoked in. The shower was broken and the water pressure was a joke. Housekeeping randomly topped up the bottled water and coffee, in a way I couldn't make sense of.
