Fubang International Hotel

The staff at the massage were friendly and very helpful. The service and restaurant were great too, and the location is ideal, right across from a shopping complex with different food places and shops. The room itself was nice and had all the amenities we needed. But our mattress was upside down, with the springs facing up, and most of the power points didn't work. We were on the 12th floor, and the bedrooms smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, seemingly coming through the air conditioner.

The bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, and it was funny being able to see the bath through the bedroom. The location deserves a full star, right opposite a big shopping complex with lots of places to eat. But our non-smoking room smelled of smoke, and there was ash in the shower. Maybe it was the cleaners, but there was also an ashtray and matches on the coffee table, so it's no surprise people had smoked in there.

The location is about the only thing this place has going for it. Service was appalling: staff at the hotel, including Yuan Xiaotang, and at the restaurant were extremely rude and unhelpful. They seemed to understand everything you said but refused to acknowledge you. The rooms are old, outdated, and falling apart, with severe mould and water damage throughout. Everything smells of cigarette smoke, and it's the dirtiest hotel I've stayed in. Do yourself a favour and avoid it. I would not recommend it.

There's a newly opened gym beside the hotel, on level 3 above Ru Jia Hotel. It has great facilities and service, and we really enjoyed working out there. I definitely recommend it if you're looking to fit in a good workout while travelling.
