There isn't much nearby for food or things to do, so I took a taxi to a mall for a meal. This Air China transit hotel has a free airport shuttle, and the ride takes about 10 minutes. The room was average, fine for a shower and some rest. The front desk handled the crowds well and was accommodating. Their English wasn't great, but they did a good job with a translator.

The downstairs restaurant was a real bargain: a soup, three dishes, and rice came to just 133 RMB, and the portions were huge. The room itself was neat and clean, and the surroundings were quiet. It’s about six kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport. Our group did have a long wait at check-in because the tour leader’s information didn’t match what the receptionist had.

Air China offers a free transit hotel, which is handy. If you only need somewhere to sleep, it seems to cost around 200 yuan. Getting a taxi there can be tricky. I found it quicker to use roaming, open Google Maps, and show the driver the location. If the Chinese address is off, airport staff may not be able to locate it, and the driver struggles too.

The Air China transit hotel is roomy, and breakfast the next morning was tasty. For tourists, though, it’s somewhat out of the way and the area feels quiet.
