Hofang Guest House

A lovely, very clean hostel in a beautiful building and a great spot that’s easy to find. The staff seemed kind and helpful. Most rooms have their own bathroom. In my female dorm there are four bunk beds, and we share a bathroom that gets cleaned every day. The air conditioning works perfectly.

The dorm rooms were clean and had everything needed, and the staff were delightful. I also liked the decor and reception area, and the location is great. There isn’t much more you could ask for. Just keep in mind it’s in a small pedestrian area, so it takes about 10 minutes to walk there from the main road.

The location is nice, and the price is reasonable. We were allowed to book this kind of youth hostel because of the rules for foreign travelers. Our room was on the third floor, which felt a bit creepy, dark, and dirty.

Hefang Ancient street is right outside, and West Lake is nearby as well. The staff are kind and speak English. There are plenty of food options close by, from shops and restaurants to McDonald's. The metro is a little far, so a taxi makes sense if you've got lots of heavy bags.
