There are lots of shops, restaurants, and nightlife around this little tourist area, so the location worked really well. The food was good and the staff were very helpful. There wasn't an elevator, which was rough with my two huge suitcases, but a guy helped me and kindly laughed at my bad Chinese.

The coffee shop's company sandwiches were quite tasty. My room was clean and comfortable, and the location was excellent, right by West Lake and across from Gome.

With the low price, the mid-range facilities aren't surprising, but I'd skip this place in winter. There's no heating, so I wondered if everyone just lives that way. It's right beside West Lake, which makes it a good option if that's what you're visiting for. Otherwise, I'd look elsewhere.

It was nice and quiet by the lake, and the dorm was clean, though a bit cramped. In the morning I found my favorite T-shirt missing. I'd hung it out to dry in the courtyard, and it had been stolen overnight.
