Sheraton Wetland Park Resort Hangzhou

The hotel never felt busy, even with its convention centre. We hardly waited for the lift, and the room floors were very quiet. It's a peaceful place, yet still close enough to the city centre and tourist attractions. Cabs and Didi were easy to get, with very short waits. We spent eight nights in the hospitality suite as Ambassador members. The personal service and distinctive charm made this Sheraton feel closer to a Luxury Collection property. It's a low-rise, five-storey building with two wings, water gardens, and a bamboo garden between the sections. We'd happily stay here again next time we're in Hangzhou.

West Lake can get crowded, so I preferred the quiet here. The hotel sits in a 5A scenic area, and a beautiful spot is just a short walk away as soon as you step outside. It feels ideal for a vacation, and breakfast has a generous selection.

The rooms are roomy and well lit, especially the suites, which have plenty of space to move around. The hotel itself is large, with modern facilities in the Hangzhou wetlands, near restaurants and pleasant places to stroll and explore. Service could be better. The food was below standard, and staff seemed to need more training to meet high expectations for speed and world-class service, though service wasn't bad by Chinese standards. Guests could also be better at respecting one another. It was an okay place to stay, but I wouldn't count on a completely satisfying experience.

The room was clean, spacious, and had a private balcony for some fresh air. The location near Xihu West Lake is great. Service was average and could be more proactive.
