We spent half a day cycling around West Lake on the bikes the hotel provides free for guests. The rooms were spacious, clean, and modern, and all the front desk staff were hospitable and helpful with our questions. When I enjoyed the candies at the desk, they even gave us a whole bag to take home. I’d definitely stay here again on a return trip to Hangzhou. Thanks again!

I was in town to visit friends and go to Alibaba for the weekend, and this was a great option at a reasonable price. The room was large, with local green tea and a fridge stocked with free non-alcoholic drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful with us as non-Chinese speakers. Breakfast was great.

The East Hotel had such friendly staff and great food. My room was big, with a lovely view, and was kept clean and tidy. It had almost everything I needed. I’d definitely come back to Hangzhou and stay here again.

The room had an annoying electric noise, and my wife and I woke up with headaches because of it. The hotel looks just like the pictures, and the people are very nice, but don’t expect much English beyond reception, ordering a taxi, and checking out. The waiters also tend to laugh at you in front of you, like people do in China, which doesn’t feel welcome in a five-star hotel.
