The hotel is close to the historical and cultural sites we learned about in school long ago, which makes it a great choice for a relaxing stay around West Lake. We loved our three nights at Silk Lakehouse by Shangri-La Signatures in November 2025, celebrating our wedding anniversary. Our stylish, well-appointed Premier lakeview room and the indoor pool were standouts. There were delicious breakfast choices, too, and the hotel offered distinctive Intangible cultural heritage workshops (intangible cultural heritage: traditional incense making, tea appreciation, clay sculpture, cloisonné handicrafts). Kudos to the friendly, attentive team who looked after us, especially manager Ulrich, Heidi and Sam at the concierge, the restaurant staff, and everyone else we met on the property. We’re already planning to return sometime next year. Happy to recommend the elegant Silk Lakehouse. Five stars.

The service at The Living Room restaurant was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally polite and friendly. They kindly offered us complimentary drinks as well. The food was very good, though the portions felt a little small. Thanks for the warm hospitality.

There are lots of villas in the East and West wings, along with restaurants. The maps and staff guidance aren’t very clear in English, but the staff are kind and helpful.
