Xiangyun Hotel (Hangzhou Wulin Square Zhonghe Road Metro Station Branch)

The Tatami Queen room felt spacious and comfortable, and I only wish I’d stayed more than one night. I booked directly through the World of Hyatt app. The map location isn’t accurate, but you can walk to West Lake, Kerry Center, a high-end shopping complex, the night market, and Fengqi metro station, just outside exit C3. There’s a gym and free laundry on the top floor. The room has a small fridge with a few complimentary items like coffee, tea, soda, and snacks. A tablet lets you contact the front desk, and a robot can deliver things to your room.

From the room, we had stunning views, and the hotel was impeccably clean. We also got a complimentary upgrade and early check-in, which was a lovely surprise. The nearest metro station is just a few steps away, making it easy to explore Hangzhou. The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel at home. Our stay at the Hyatt Hotel in Westlake, Hangzhou was well worth it, and we’ll definitely return if we’re in the area again.

The staff are friendly, and the Didi pickup area is convenient. The room has plenty of plugs, an automated toilet, and a Google Home-like device for calls or playing music. Location is a big plus: West Lake and Wulin night market are walkable, with the train station and malls right beside the hotel. A few metres downstairs, you can buy authentic silk and longjing tea.

The rooms are decent and fairly new, but the front desk staff weren’t very friendly and didn’t go beyond their assigned duties. The map pin is wrong: the hotel is right outside Fengqi station exit C3. Kerry Centre and Wulin night market, about 300m away, are walkable, as is West Lake at around 600m through the night market. There’s no dedicated hotel driveway, though a Didi can stop on the main road about 20m from the entrance.
