You can still make out traces of the old plank roads, city walls, Song and Yuan dynasty pagodas, opera stages, and government offices. Huayang Ancient Town’s former life as a major military and political center on the Tangluo Ancient Road is easy to picture. Its old county-town outline remains, along with well-preserved Ming and Qing dynasty buildings such as inns, pawnshops, restaurants, and teahouses. The passing years haven’t erased the signs of life here.
