Harbin Hash Youth Hostel

The room was our own, even though this is a hostel, and the whole place was clean and tidy. The staff were helpful and friendly, and the price was good. I was in Harbin for a while and someone living in China recommended it. I’d happily stay again.

I’ve stayed in all sorts of places around Harbin, from hotels and hostels to basements, and the khash was the best value. The staff know very little English, but that’s still quite good by Harbin standards. On July 2, 2019, a double room with a king-size bed and air conditioning was about 100 yuan a night; a six-person shared room would be 40 yuan starting in July. Book before July if you’re planning to stay. It works for a couple of days or a longer visit. Prices in Harbin are terribly high for almost everything except some foods, and I wouldn’t recommend visiting the city.

The front desk staff are really friendly, and their dog is adorable. In the evenings there might be a movie or live music in the bar and lobby on the first floor. There’s plenty of space, and the hostel has its own style. You can relax or read in the lobby instead of staying in your room. It’s my favorite hostel in Harbin.
