The room was to our liking, and the hotel is well placed for nearby shops and places to eat. Breakfast was just average, with mostly vegetarian choices. From behind the hotel, you can see Russia across the river.

What bothered me most was the staff apparently sharing guests’ personal information. My colleague and I had hardly checked in after crossing the border when someone came knocking, trying to sell us guide services. That person hadn’t come to the hotel with us and arrived later, which made the whole thing feel especially strange. I can’t stand pushy people, and it spoiled the stay for me. The hotel itself was fine, though: good location, clean and spacious rooms, and plenty of breakfast choices.

We had a large room on the 10th floor with a great view over the city. The location is convenient, almost right in the center.
