Cebu Hostel

We were given a smaller room for the final night, and it turned out to be a nightmare: cockroaches and other little bugs were crawling around, and the toilet didn't work. It was late and there was no staff around to complain to. Before that, we'd had a decent room for three nights and the personnel were friendly. We only had cash for those three nights when we arrived, but they said we could pay for the last night later. Then, on the evening before that fourth night, the owner fussed about changing our room because we hadn't paid yet. They'd packed our belongings without asking. They also requested more for the last night than we'd agreed, though they eventually accepted the original amount when we refused to pay extra. Avoid this place. They seemed nice at first, but I felt they tried to get more money from us, and the place was dirty. The whole building had rats, roaches, and trash everywhere.

It's easy to get around from this location, but the room was filthy and moldy. There was foul-smelling, unidentified dirt or debris on the beds, and the smell of smoke and ointment seemed to be everywhere. I wouldn't recommend it to travelers.

Stay away from this hotel. During a strong storm signal in Hong Kong, there was no way to arrive, but they wouldn't let me rebook. They offered only to let me book again and pay again. They may offer a good deal, but I felt they were greedy and just wanted more money. This feels like a scam.

The location was very good, but the facilities were poor. My room was too small, and the air conditioning didn't work during my last stay. Staff promised to fix it but never did. There was also quite a bit of noise at the reception counter at night. I booked one room but was given a different one in another block. It was a bad experience.
