EAST Hong Kong

The design and layout are well thought out, and this will be my hotel of choice on my next Hong Kong trip. It’s beside TaiKoo MRT and Cityplaza, and check-in was quick, so I was in my room in no time. My high-floor room had a beautiful view of the Bay and city skyline. The room was large, the bed comfortable, and the shower was thoughtfully designed. I do wish the toilet had a bidet. The filtered water tap was very handy for refilling whenever I wanted. The air conditioning was tricky. It was 10-15 outside, but even at a 24C setting the room felt freezing. I had to set it to 26, the maximum, or switch it off for hours to get comfortable. Breakfast on level 1 was good, though there wasn’t much variety, and after three days the choices felt repetitive.

I loved starting the day with coffee from the shop featuring No Coffee from Japan, then spending time at Sugar, the stylish rooftop bar with excellent cocktails. The hotel also has a modern gym, a pool, and lots of lobby space to meet up. The rooms are modern and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like USB-C plugs, filtered water stations that I used every day, soft robes, and harbor views that made mornings and sunsets special. Getting around is easy, with the MTR right nearby or Central a quick 10-minute drive away. I’d absolutely stay again.

The view from my bright, spotless room over Victoria Harbour was stunning, especially at sunrise. The room and hotel felt modern and stylish, and the location above Tai Koo MTR station made it easy to get around. The check-in and checkout were quick and smooth. Staff were warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Breakfast at the “Feast” restaurant had fresh ingredients and lots of choice. I also loved “Sugar” rooftop bar for its atmosphere, cocktails, and spectacular view across Hong Kong Island. I’d recommend EAST for modern comfort and a relaxed, stylish feel. One of my favourite Hong Kong hotels! 🌆✨

The room was odd, with very dim lights, switches that barely worked, and such weak shower pressure that the tap seemed stronger. The complimentary drinks weren’t actually free, which felt like they were there to tempt people into drinking them. My skin is very sensitive, so hotel linen that hasn’t been thoroughly cleaned with my sprays makes me itch all day. We asked the staff member outside our door to leave the sheets and bed alone and only empty the bins. When we came back, the linen didn’t have the spray smell, so it seemed she had changed it despite our specific request. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone with sensitive skin, or really in general.
