Golden Guest House

The room was tiny, with a boarded-up window, and opening it made it clear why it was boarded up. There’s no bathroom in the room. The one in the hallway is basically a toilet with a showerhead hanging over it. It was cheap, and thankfully I’m only staying two nights.

The room was clean and neat, though small, and the facilities were limited. A good guest house for the money.

A budget-friendly spot for a quick rest before heading back out.

The location is a real plus, and the place has a bit of a chicken coop feel. But don't rely on Google Maps. It's right across from a busy crosswalk on a main road. Go into Chungking Masions, head straight to the end, then take elevator number 5 on the left. If you see lots of Indian people when you enter, you're in the right place. I booked 3 nights 3 weeks ago, asked straight away to change it to 2, and they refused, so I lost a day. The owner isn't there and only comes after you contact them, so make sure you have a way to reach them. There were stains on the bed. The bathroom is tiny, the toilet doesn't flush properly, the hot water is poor, and you can hear a lot through the walls. People smoke in the building and on the stairs, and there's always a smell of dog poop and wet animals. Unless you're looking for a hotel, the value and location might make it worth staying here.
