Harbour Bay Hotel

The place is comfortable and clean, with food, shops, and MTR stations conveniently close by. It has complete amenities, though the facilities are simple. The paper bath towels are disposable and hygienic, but hard to use for drying. The lobby is tiny. Housekeeping takes out the rubbish and replaces amenities, but leaves the bed unmade. I'm not sure whether they clean the floors.

The room I had was clean, though very small, which seems normal for Hong Kong. The location is excellent if you're looking for a hotel, with K11 mall, the MTR station, and plenty of shops nearby. It's in Tsim Sha Tsui, convenient for shopping and nearby tourist attractions.

There aren't extras like a gym or room service, though the place is nice and handy for the ferries. The interior looks clean and modern, and from the 17th floor there's a partial harbour view. But using the room brings out some poor design choices. Street noise carries up clearly, even with the window shut. The toilet and shower are separate, but both sit behind a full length window. There is a blind, although you can still see outside, and people in the neighboring building might be able to see your private areas. One sliding door serves both the toilet and shower, so you can close one or the other, never both. There's also about a foot of open space above the door, which means steam spreads through the whole room when you shower.

The room and hotel were clean, and we had a corner city view room with lovely natural light. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and it came with toiletries, slippers, and towels. The toilet, bath, and sink are separated, which was fine. The hotel itself is very small and narrow, but the room size was what you'd expect in Hong Kong. You're mainly paying for the location. It's right beside Holiday Inn, where the airport express bus stops. K11's elevator is less than a minute away and takes you down to the TST station area, with the station and platform a couple more minutes on foot. The walls may be thin, since we could hear a neighbor once. I'd ask for a high, quiet, or corner room. Reception staff weren't as friendly as at other hotels.
