Homy Inn North Point

The welcome was friendly, and they let me leave my bags before the room was ready. The room was about hostel size for HK, roughly 2.5m by 1.5m, with a small but comfortable bed and a combined shower and toilet. Ventilation was good, though I didn't check the A/C. The downsides were the disposable towel, which I found unsatisfactory and wasteful, and having to request hot water instead of it being on by default. Rooms, stairs, and shared areas were run down and needed repairs. There was a collection of black mould in the washroom, and the lifts were slow and unpredictable.

Don't book. Homy Inn North Point can't guarantee a room free of moss and mould, which is a basic health need. Even after showing proof that Homy Inn didn't meet basic cleanliness standards, Booking.com wouldn't refund me. If you've booked, do a chargeback immediately.

The location is the main reason to consider staying here. Bus A11 or A12 gets you from the airport to the accommodation area without a transfer, and the metro and tram stop almost right outside. But the room I had was tiny, smelled mouldy, and I could hear people talking as if they were right beside me. Bring enough cash for check-in because they ask for a deposit. If you only care about location and can put up with that, go ahead; otherwise, steer clear. I'm not sure I can recommend it. Take other reviewers' room photos at face value.

We booked five nights for two adults, and the small room was expected. What we got was a neglected space with torn, peeling wallpaper, a damaged-looking ceiling, badly worn floors, and old, unkempt furniture. It was dim and dreary enough to feel abandoned. The condition made the 500HKD damage deposit especially shocking. The toilet was nearly unbearable because of a strange, nasty smell and filthy walls that didn't seem cleanable by ordinary service. Shower pressure was depressingly weak, although the hot water did get properly hot. We couldn't take it after the third night, so we checked out early and booked somewhere else. Staff said they couldn't refund the remaining two nights, and that's fine. They can take my money, but they can't take my human dignity.
