Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour

The view from our room was fantastic, and the room itself was nicely sized with marble finishes, especially around the bath. We had a wonderful four-night stay at Hyatt Centric. On arrival from our taxi, a man greeted us warmly and directed us to check-in on the 2nd floor. The Receptionist was efficient and friendly, and Holly, our Housekeeper, was just as friendly, efficient, and detail oriented. North Point Ferry and North Point MRT station are right across from the hotel, and there are plenty of eateries nearby. Although major roads are close, we didn’t find the traffic noisy on the 7th floor. We also tried the Chinese family restaurant on the 2nd floor, though I’ve forgotten its name. The food was yummy and the portions huge. We’ll definitely stay again.

I’m here about one week each month for business, and Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong has proved a reliable choice for regular stays. The team is consistently kind and helpful, and the gym is nice. After a long day, the rooftop pool and its view are a good way to unwind. The rooms are comfortable and well kept, with excellent mattresses and pillows that make a difference when you travel often. They’re on the small side, as is standard in Hong Kong, but whichever side you’re on, there’s an ocean view. The waterfront highway can be noisy. I found the west-facing rooms quite loud, even on higher floors, so if noise bothers you, request the opposite side. Breakfast is excellent, almost too tempting. I stopped having it because I kept eating too much. It’s a solid option for short or longer business trips.

We chose North Point because we wanted to avoid the crowds, and its quieter, local feel suited us. It’s not right in the city center, but it’s still convenient to get around. A similar hotel in Mong Kok, Central, or TST would probably cost almost twice as much, so this was excellent value. The MTR is just a 1-2 minute walk away, with coffee shops and convenience stores downstairs for snacks or a morning coffee. The harbour-view room was worth booking. Waking up to that view each morning was one of the best parts of the stay. The bathroom had all the essentials, and more items were easy to request. Staff were friendly, polite, and hospitable, and ready to help throughout our stay, from check-in to check-out. We really enjoyed it and would happily stay again. I’d recommend it to travelers who want a quieter area without giving up access or comfort.

I’ve stayed here twice and both visits were great. The rooms and amenities feel very modern, and the rooftop bar and gym are excellent. The gym could use more leg exercises, though. The locker rooms also have a sauna, steam room, and several other luxurious amenities. The location is great too. All rooms seem to have at least a partial harbour view, so I don’t think paying extra for a full one is necessary.
