Le Méridien Hong Kong, Cyberport

Since my sister lives in the Cyberport area, this hotel was perfectly placed for me. The room, view, bed, and shower were all very comfortable, and I really liked the free shuttle service. The reception area staff, including the concierge, dress casually and give the place a countryside vacation feel, but they’re top-notch, super friendly, and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

The room wasn’t decent: I found hairs on the floor that clearly weren’t mine, and the black-out curtain didn’t block the sun, so expect to wake up around 6-7 in the morning. The minibars were all empty and unavailable even on request. During both check-in and check-out, NO ONE helped with my luggage. They just stood there while I struggled. The bellboy seemed useless. I emailed the front office manager before arriving, but the poor service was still worse than expected. It seems like the hotel is going through a difficult transition, and I feel sorry for the deteriorating management and lack of work ethic. Calling this a 5 star hotel is the biggest joke in the hotel industry. Maybe Google should take off a star. How does a bizarre hotel like this survive in HK?

My stay at Le Méridien Cyberport, Hong Kong was extremely disappointing. When I asked to extend, they offered an upgrade but didn’t tell me the extension would come at a higher rate. The front desk gave me conflicting directions about paying the bond, and the duty manager was condescending, saying, “Nothing our hotel can do.” They first offered only late check-out as compensation, then a free breakfast, and after weeks of complaints, 5,000 Bonvoy points. Completely unprofessional, and they wasted my time.

Be very cautious about staying here. There have been multiple reports of a suspected scam involving hotel staff and a third party, with victims receiving several fake payment links. The hotel has refused to take responsibility or investigate properly. Victims have contacted the GM and several senior staff, but no action has been taken. Very disappointing for a major international hotel brand. Do not stay here.
