Novotel Nathan Road Kowloon Hong Kong

The location puts you right in the middle of everything for the price. Breakfast had the best spread I’ve seen among the few Hong Kong hotels I’ve tried. We booked two Executive Premier rooms with lounge access and sofa beds, and both were set up as requested. The rooms aren’t large by Hong Kong standards, but there’s not much to complain about. Even the access lift had room for our bags and family. The hotel feels a little dated, though it’s well maintained and still has a good feel. The amenities were great, and housekeeping kept us supplied with shampoo and towels. Even after our daily outings left us wet and dirty, the rooms were always properly clean.

The rooms, toilets, and bathrooms were very neat and clean, and cleaning was done daily. Staff were helpful, and breakfast on the first floor had plenty of variety. I booked two adjoining rooms. They weren’t big, but had enough general furniture. The bathroom sliding door had no inside latch, and we had repeated trouble with the electronic card lock, at least three or four times. We stayed four nights as a family. Public transport makes the hotel easy to reach: take the Airport Express to Kowloon Station, then the free K1 airport shuttle to Eaton Hotel, followed by a three minute walk. Jordan MTR is about a five or six minute walk, and the KMB bus station is nearby. There are four high speed lifts, each for 12 passengers. The room price, including breakfast, is a little high, but it’s still a good option.

The seafood buffet was a highlight, with excellent service and a fair price. The hotel runs efficiently, and the front desk responds quickly to guests’ needs. My room met what I expected from previous stays at other Accor hotels and from the online description when I booked. No surprises, well done.

Breakfast was very good, with Chinese dishes, Western breads, and an egg station where they cook to order. The double room was spacious and modern, with clean-looking furnishings. It also had USB ports and a complimentary universal adaptor. The exterior doesn’t look especially fancy, but the staff and concierge were friendly and helpful. Jordan metro station is close by. I’d stay again.
