I had a great time here and would definitely come back. My private room was clean and comfortable, with a TV, hair dryer, towel, slippers, toothbrush and paste, air conditioning, private bathroom, and a very comfortable bed. The price for a private clean room was unbeatable for me. Staff were helpful and kind, and checked whether I wanted the room cleaned or needed a fresh towel. I felt safe and nobody in the area harassed me. There are cameras throughout, a security key for both the room and main entrance, plus a fridge and free coffee. The mix of different cultures suited me as a traveler. It's a two-minute walk to the harbor and one minute to the bus, metro, and supermarket. Loved my stay.

Stayed four days and three nights, and nothing bad happened. The walls were strong enough to keep noise out, and I slept comfortably. I liked the soft bed and pillows, and we even got a free upgrade to a bigger room, though it was still coffin-sized. That's Hong Kong, I guess. Everything around the hotel was super convenient. There were a few downsides. The room really was tiny, and I had to shower over the toilet in a space of about 2 sq.m., which felt weird even to me as an Asian. Sometimes a local guest might come say hello, meaning a cockroach. The 10% service charge at reception was confusing, and there was lots of Indian food and a strong smell in the building that you couldn't avoid. The building is super old, maybe 100 decades, so you have to accept all that. You get what you pay for!

The location on the 11th floor of Chungking Mansion in TsimShaTsui makes it easy to get to the train station, Avenue of Stars, the Museum of Fine Arts, and Space Museum. For a short stay in HK on a budget, it's a great place. We had a twin room that felt just right, with clean sheets and no bad smell. The staff were friendly too, and lent us a portable weighing scale so we could check our luggage before leaving.

Chungking Mansion works if all you need is somewhere to sleep at night. There are lots of transient owners, so you need to choose which place or floor you want. The two elevators serve different levels, so make sure you know which house level you booked.
