Rambler Garden Hotel

The best thing about Rambler Garden Hotel is how close it is to Disneyland and Lantau Island compared with a city stay. A bus stop about 400 meters away connects to Hong Kong’s main city areas, and the 88F green minibus runs frequently to Tsing Yi for easy MTR access. It’s a decent budget option, but it’s a bit far from the main city, so expect a journey if you’re spending most of your time in Central or Tsim Sha Tsui. Rooms and bathrooms are very small, typical for Hong Kong, and large luggage could make a short stay feel tight. Nearby dining is limited, though Café de Coral on the ground floor is convenient for breakfast, and there’s a 7-Eleven in the same tower. Good value if you’re fine with the small room and being away from the center.

Quiet and peaceful, with friendly staff and good value for money. It’s not far from the airport, and A32 and NA32 take 30-40 minutes in either direction. There are food options on level 1, including 7/11, cafe de coral, and a local eatery. The wifi wasn’t very good, but I’d still love to stay again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times because its location near the airport works well for me. The staff have been friendly each time, and Erin & Sam were helpful. Reception can lend you an adaptor if you leave a deposit. There’s also a small shopping mall in the same building, which is convenient for us.

The only thing I liked was the decent view of the port. I stayed for 5 nights as a tourist, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. The rooms are too small and poorly equipped: the fridge and lights didn’t work, and the room phone was out of order. There’s no room heater, which could be a problem in winter. The hotel is far from the main attractions, and it doesn’t provide airport transport. There’s no cafe or restaurant either. To reach attractions you have to take a bus to the metro, since cabs are expensive. The staff weren’t welcoming and had trouble communicating in English. I wouldn’t recommend Tsing Yi as a tourist base. Look for somewhere more central.
