Royal Park Hotel

The location is good and close to the train station, and the room was decent. Still, I expected more for what I paid. The bathroom door wouldn't lock, and using the laundry costs extra. I've stayed at other hotels that provide laundry free, but I guess this place tries to get cash however it can.

The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the staff are professional. There's a shuttle to and from Mongkok East Station, another hotel in the same chain. The hotel connects to a big mall on 3/F, with shops, restaurants, daily necessities, and MTR access reachable indoors within a ten-minute walk. It's conveniently located for the airport, too: the A46 bus stop is right in front, making the trip easy both ways. I'd come back if I needed somewhere to stay while visiting Hong Kong.

The location is great and the hotel and room areas were generally clean, but I had a mixed stay at Royal Park Hotel Hong Kong. I was on Level 9, where the toilet's soft-close lid didn't work at all. I've stayed at Royal Park Hotel before and that feature always worked, so this was disappointing. The toilet also sometimes kept running after a flush and wouldn't refill properly, leaving it unusable. Maintenance fixed part of the problem after I called the front desk, but it still happened now and then. There were times with no spare toilet paper, either, and housekeeping didn't replenish it, so I had to call for more. That's below what I'd expect from a hotel of this standard. The service at the entrance was disappointing too. We were carrying six pieces of luggage to our transport, and a staff member at the main door was looking at their phone instead of helping or opening the door. The hotel is clean and well located, but maintenance and service need improvement.

The pillow menu was a nice touch, and I could pick one that made for a comfortable night. Getting to the MTR takes about 5-10 minutes on foot through Sha Tin Plaza, which is handy for reaching Kowloon and other attractions. The hotel is connected to the shopping centre, with plenty of food and shopping options. Our room was spotless and spacious, the service was excellent, and the location worked perfectly. I couldn’t find anything to fault and would happily stay again.
