The online photos had me expecting something different. The room carpet was disgusting and stained, and there weren't any slippers. I also don't get why a four-star hotel charges for basic things like a toothbrush. It's not as if this place costs less than USD100 a night.

It's a comfortable hotel in a convenient spot, just a few minutes on foot from Hong Kong station if you're arriving from the airport. The rooms are fairly large and nicely appointed, with a desk, fridge, kettle, and a small selection of tea and coffee samples. They don't supply bottled water, but there's a 7/11 about a minute from the foyer.

The location was good, with nice food nearby, and the staff were genuinely helpful. Still, the rooms are smaller than the website pictures, though acceptable, and felt a little old and smelly. The fridge had rust leakage, and the toilet door wouldn't shut all the way or lock, which felt unhygienic since the bed is just outside. Every amenity cost extra, including a toothbrush and slippers, supposedly for “saving environment.” They also took my credit card as a deposit, which I didn't appreciate.

Don't be put off by the small lobby. The apartment was a good size for the neighborhood, with a comfortable bed and useful equipment, including a nespresso machine. I slept really well, enjoyed the shower, and the room was very quiet. Staff were attentive and polite. The location worked well for me, between central, sheung wa, near mid levels etc. Trams and subway are nearby, as are plenty of places to eat and drink.
